Since I have so many male TriciaEXTRA readers #SHOCKER, I think it’s only fitting to write a post directed toward you all.
Be honest guys: You all want to know what women want.
There is always speculation over what women truly look for in a male partner. The reality isn’t as hard to understand or achieve as you might think though. So if you are finding yourself still single and being swiped left too many times, you might want to take a look at these 12 traits that modern women find irresistible.
Because no guy ever said “I don’t want the EXTRA girl”. By the way, this is in no particular order.
1.BEING ATTRACTIVE
Well…..duh, right? It is the honest truth that whatever gender you are, being attractive gives you a better chance of finding someone. Look for someone in ‘your league’. Men and women are attracted to people who are as attractive as they are. This avoids two things. If they are much better looking than you, you will be worried with them going off and having affairs. If they are much less attractive, you are worried that you can do better. If you establish a physical attraction then you need to make sure the chemistry is there. This is the complex emotional or physiological interaction between two people. It’s that electricity in the air that makes you want to give someone the jump. It is palpable and NECESSARY.
2. BEING CONFIDENT
It is actually the sexiest thing, confidence. This is a quality treasured by men as well. Confidence is knowing who YOU are. It’s knowing your strengths and weaknesses. It’s a feeling of self assurance arising from your own appreciation of your abilities or qualities. Women love men with confidence, but be careful because there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Being stuck up sucks. Being mild and meek sucks too.
3. BEING HUMOROUS
This one is a no brainer and will come as a surprise to pretty much no one: women like funny men. When guys can have a laugh, enjoy making others laugh and don’t take themselves too seriously this is a HUGE turn on. It is important to show us you can be silly and appreciate our humor as well. Now this doesn’t mean that we want you to be some non stop joke machine with a repertoire of fart jokes and corny stand up routines. That says oddball. We want witty intelligent humor. 4. BEING A GOOD LISTENER
A man who truly listens and contributes to the dialogue is a prized trait for women. The obvious thing is that attractive is listening. Guys who listen to what you say and ask open ended questions show they are actually engaged, interested and what to know more about YOU. When you ask about our life it shows us you really care and that we mean something to you. Building out the conversation will lead to a better connection rather than you blurting out where you went to college, what car you drive or that you earn six figures.
5. BEING IN YOUR BEST SHAPE
Yes, we are all a little shallow so get over it!!! You see it’s 2020 and it’s not enough to be rich anymore. We are making our own bucks and we would also like to have a pretty boy than a rich one. The time for letting yourself go is gone. The truth is the overweight, doughy couch potato rarely gets the girl. Here is the ROI on getting into shape. Adding muscle and losing fat will ABSOLUTELY increase the likelihood of success with us. An impressive physique makes a man more physically attractive, which makes you more likable and appealing. So if you are a stud, you will attract a better quality female. Studies say men with more attractive partners are significantly happier in their relationships. And wow, if you are both handsome and rich, women will fight over you like you are living in a Calvin Klein underwear commercial. It is a sign to us that you respect yourself. Let’s get one thing straight: getting in shape is NOT EASY. Going from meatball sub scarfing Pillsbury dough boy to diet conscious workout warrior is hard. Take this from someone who has done it. You need to learn how to love working out, eating healthy and working your ass off until the day you die. Accept it or continue being fat. However, if you master this exceptionally difficult task then you reap the benefits of being healthy, energetic, off Viagra, and having some babe lick chocolate sauce off the lines in your abs….you get the idea. PRICELESS.
6. BEING INTELLIGENT
Shocker here but nobody wants to date a dummy. Intelligence ranks highly in what women desire in men. We are not talking about a necessary Einstein level here but you should probably be able to hold a convo beyond, “Yo girl, are ya hungry?” So what does this look like? It’s being interesting and interested; holding your own enthusiasm in a conversation without dominating it. If you are an expert on a topic we do not want an insufferable dissertation!!! We will flee. Make sure you are engaging if discussing a topic that you are passionate or knowledgeable about.
7. BEING GOOD IN BED
Now we are getting to the good stuff. Having a great sexual experience matters to us too!! This doesn’t just mean how many O’s you gave us to make us happy, but some of the best experiences in bed have A LOT more to do with intimacy. Women want to have good “pillow talk” i.e. conversations, cuddling, eye contact and caresses. This is so much more meaningful to us then just doing the deed, saying “Thanks” and heading out to Subway for your sandwich. This lack of sexual gratification will only lead us to thoughts of infidelity and breaking up with you.#BOOHOO
8. BEING KIND
To back up the stereotype, it is true, women really do like nice guys. The kinder you are to the people in your life, the more attractive you will look to the woman you are interested in. This also includes showing patience and thoughtfulness to her. Patience shows maturity. I mean did Paul Newman throw a tantrum at the post office cause the line was so long? Hell no!! It shows maturity. Thoughtfulness involves small gestures that show your partner that you “get her”. You remember how she likes her pizza, you bring home her favorite ice cream, or rub her feet at the end of the day. Do this and do it often. It shows you are paying attention and it will go far. Let’s also include having a good moral compass in here. It’s important to women that you won’t lie, cheat, steal or hurt someone on purpose. 9.BEING AMBITIOUS
Remember when I said that having money didn’t mean anything in 2020? Well, I lied. Here is where that comes into play. Career complacency has never been an attractive quality. A touch of ambition is magnetic to women. Women find a man with a plan irresistible; a man who is constantly improving himself, developing his skills and striving for his personal best.#EXTRAHOT
10. BEING STYLISH
A well-dressed man is soft core porn to us. We are not asking for expensive suits here. Simplicity should never be under estimated. Keep clothing streamlined and suited to your body type and features. It’s well tailored jeans, a fitted t-shirt with no fishing decals, stylish footwear, the right scent, a nice watch and a cashmere sweater if necessary. I have done the research and the ladies have spoken, just make the simple effort.
11. BEING ROMANTIC
Yes, women like classic romance, and being swept off our feet by the man that adores us. A romantic man goes out of his way to show a woman how much she means to him. This is any romantic gesture that makes her feel important to you. The cliche favorite flowers, a home cooked meal, a candlelit dinner, a drive in the country with cheese, crackers and vino, surprises when it’s not her birthday or doing her favors like taking her car to get that annoying oil change. It’s never a bad idea to make a special woman feel special. This is key in relationship retention.
12. BEING HONEST AND DEPENDABLE
Be someone your woman can be proud of. That means following through on your word, being honest and being able to be counted on. This means that your man can be predictable and reliable. This however, in no certain terms means being boring.
